柱サボテンは名前の通り、柱のように高くなりどっしりとしたフォルムが特徴の植物です。
独特の存在感で、インテリアとして大変人気のある観葉植物です。乾燥に強く、手間いらずの管理が魅力です。花言葉は「情熱」です。夏場に白いエキゾチックなお花を咲かせます。

育て方/日当たりの良いところが適しています。野外の管理も大丈夫です。風通しが悪いと病害虫の原因になりますので風通しの良い場所で管理しましょう。寒さに弱い品種は5℃以上を保っていれば冬越しは可能です。※水遣り/夏が生長期の種類が多いので冬は水を控えめにします。土が乾いてから鉢底穴から流れる出るくらいたっぷりと水やりをします。春・秋・・・午前中夏・・・夕方～夜。夏の午前中や昼間の水やりは、水の温度も上がるので避けてください。冬・・・昼間の気温が高いうちに水やりをします。冬はほぼ断水しますが、小さい苗は乾燥で枯れてしまう場合もあります。気温が5℃以上あり、乾燥している場合は月に1回様子を見て水やりをしてください。その場合は気温が上がっている昼間に水やりします。晴れた暖かい日が理想です。低温時に水やりをすると根が傷んだり、根腐れの原因になります。
